About The Position

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is looking for a master in customer service with excellent communication skills and an upbeat attitude. This position performs administrative duties as directed by a supervisor or administrator, including general office duties, research and gathers data for preparation of various reports and special projects. In this role, you will also review/monitor amounts expended from the budget to assure that expenditures do not exceed funds available at the Arizona State Prison Complex (ASPC) - Safford. Requirements

  • Knowledge of: - Administrative management practices - General procurement rules and procedures - Business English, spelling, grammar usage, and filing systems - Proper telephone etiquette, dealing with staff, inmates, and the public - Personal computers, word processing and spreadsheet software - Department policies and procedures
  • Skill in: - The use of a personal computer - Operation of general office equipment - Data entry and report preparation - Formatting difficult and complex reports - Writing correspondence - Training lower-level staff - Written and verbal communications - Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships
  • Ability to: - Plan, analyze, coordinate, and prioritize work - Maintain confidentiality - Research, collect, and organize data - Multi-task and work in a business/professional environment - Work in a prison environment
  • Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and a drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer working knowledge of computer programs, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Prefer two-three (2-3) years of administrative experience reporting to a manager or administrator

Responsibilities

  • Performs general office duties
  • Researches and gathers data for preparation of various reports and special project
  • Prepares a variety of correspondence and responses
  • Responds to related questions from the public and staff
  • Investigates complaints and resolves problems or refers to the appropriate area
  • Reviews and monitors amounts expended from the budget to assure that expenditures do not exceed funds available
  • Attends meetings and takes minutes
  • Organizes and files confidential and administrative files
  • Maintains and operates general office equipment
  • Drives on State business
  • Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
