About The Position

The Board of Public Accountancy is seeking an Administrative Programs Officer I. This position plays an important role in safeguarding public trust by supporting examination, certification, licensure, and enforcement efforts that uphold the integrity of the CPA profession. Administer and oversee the Continuing Professional Education (CPE) and Peer Review Programs (PRP), including compliance evaluation, rule interpretation, committee coordination, and referral of non-compliance matters. Manage annual CPE and PRP audits, compliance tracking, reporting, and program statistics. Prepare and support agency budget development and reporting. Process and manage financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, disbursements, payroll, fixed assets, and use of the state accounting system. Maintain, update, safeguard, and generate board reports. Prepare committee meeting minutes and provide administrative support to Board committees. Provide full administrative and operational office support, including mail processing, purchasing, inventory management, equipment maintenance, subscriptions, and records management.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in public or business administration, accounting, or any discipline related to the work assigned.
  • One year of experience in administrative, business management or technical support work including collecting and interpreting statistical, financial, program, or administrative data; or interpreting laws, rules, regulations, and processes.
  • Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience utilizing accounting systems like E1, knowledge of accounting firm operations.
