The College of Western Idaho (CWI) is seeking an Administrative Assistant I to serve as a primary point of contact for current and prospective students, providing guidance and support throughout the admissions, registration, and enrollment process. Requirements

  • One (1) year of professional experience working with students in a postsecondary setting or three (3) years of experience in an office environment
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, and cross‑cultural communication skills
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accuracy, and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new and continuing students, providing admissions, registration, and general college information
  • Support students during the registration process and assist with navigating enrollment requirements
  • Respond to student and public inquiries in person, by phone, and through written communication in a professional and student‑centered manner
  • Explain and apply college policies while serving as a liaison between students and internal departments
  • Process, review, and audit student documents to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain student records, including registration changes, major updates, name changes, and forms intake
  • Perform accurate data entry, student record creation, and report production
  • Support document management and record‑keeping processes that align with institutional standards
  • Assist with recruitment initiatives, including preparation of large mailings, newsletters, high school outreach, and other admissions strategies
  • Organize resources, establish priorities, and support short‑ and long‑range departmental goals
  • Collaborate with Enrollment Services and campus partners to resolve issues and improve student experiences
  • Convey by word and action the values expected by CWI
  • Some early evening hours may be required
  • Modest local travel between campus locations may be required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
