About The Position

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. The Administrative Support Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the SILS administrative office by managing daily office procedures, coordinating academic and administrative functions, and maintaining business continuity. This position also serves as the Events Coordinator and Facilities Coordinator, while providing direct support to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. The role involves regular interaction with students, faculty, staff, and guests, requiring a high level of professionalism and responsiveness. The specialist must effectively analyze, prioritize, and manage multiple complex and often confidential tasks. This includes making informed recommendations to improve workflow, handling verbal and written communications, and ensuring timely completion of assignments despite frequent interruptions.
