About The Position

Regulate the flow of patients’ dental and maxillofacial appointment needs. Independently interacts with patients in person or by telephone. Triages incoming calls to properly appoint the patients to meet their needs whether in DFP or explain and provide contact information to the Student and Graduate Clinics. Fully registers new DFP patients (in the Electronic Patient Records- EPR ) while explaining what they can expect at their first appointment and answering subsequent questions. Checks patients in and out of the practice, collects patients’ payments, and makes additional patient appointments if necessary. Works with DFP clinicians and clinical staff to coordinate, cancel, and reschedules patients as needed (e.g. due to incomplete lab work, change in the clinician’s DFP schedule or patient’s treatment plan). Strives to meet every patient care expectation whether in person or over the telephone while maintaining high professional standards. Position reconciles end of day cash drawer, while providing patients with service rendered receipts and forwarding their information to the insurance office for processing.

Requirements

  • Previous dental office experience and the ability to work independently with patients
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Thorough follow through on all patient, clinicians or clinical staff related tasks and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Must have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills also required.
