About The Position
Indian River State College is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Adjunct Instructor in Theatre Arts to deliver dynamic, high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment. JOB SUMMARY: Under general direction, this position is responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging, courses. This role includes developing course materials, fostering a positive learning environment, and providing timely and constructive feedback to students. Utilize various tools and technologies to enhance student learning and ensure accessibility and inclusivity in the classroom.
Requirements
- Masters or doctorate degree from a regionally accredited institution in Theatre Arts / Performing Arts, or a Masters or doctorate degree in a regionally accredited institution with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate hours in Theatre Arts / Performing Arts
- Knowledge and experience in acting terminology/techniques and theatre history
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Proven teaching skills with the ablility to convey basic concepts and theories in a practical and comprehensible way
- Computer literacy and experience using a computer in courses with a willingness to apply technology and innovative approaches to the teaching of specific discipline
- Meet the appropriate credentialing requirements for the Southern Association for Colleges and Schools (SACS)
Nice To Haves
- High school and/or college level theatre teaching experience; preferred
Responsibilities
- Instruct assign classes
- grade all quizzes, tests, and written assignments
- Assign midterm and final grades and deliver grades and grade justification sheets
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to meet with students
- Maintain a safe and effective classroom environment
- Adhere to all adjunct faculty training and procedural guidelines as expressed by college administration
- Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned
