About The Position

Serve as an adjunct faculty advisor supporting Cougar Capital , a student-managed private equity and venture capital investment program within the Marriott School of Business. Support instruction for MBA 664 (Private Equity & Venture Capital) and MBA 665 Part 1 & Part 2 (Advanced Private Equity & Venture Capital Strategy) by contributing professional insight during class sessions. Facilitate learning by engaging with students through questions, discussion, and applied perspectives related to sourcing, due diligence, valuation, deal structuring, and portfolio management in private markets. Meet regularly with student leaders and/or fund teams to provide mentorship related to investment process, class dynamics, and professional development. Collaborate with faculty instructors and student leadership to ensure a cohesive experiential learning environment. Advise on student investment pitches and analyses by asking questions that encourage critical thinking and deeper understanding, without directing outcomes or advocating for specific investment decisions. Provide career guidance and share professional experience related to careers in private equity, venture capital, and related investment fields.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or a closely related field required; MBA or Ph.D. preferred.
  • The required degree must be completed by the start date.
  • Evidence of relevant professional experience in private equity, venture capital, growth equity, or related investment fields.
  • This position requires the successful candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.

  • Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching, instructional support, or mentoring experience at the collegiate level, or equivalent professional experience aligned with the course content.
