About The Position

Teach one 3-credit BIO 100 course as assigned by the department. Deliver instruction using course materials aligned with course learning outcomes, with an emphasis on active learning. Assess and evaluate student performance in a timely manner, maintain accurate grade records, and demonstrate improvement informed by student ratings and staff feedback. Hold regular weekly office hours (in-person and/or online). Communicate professionally and consistently with students, faculty, and department staff.

Requirements

  • MS or higher in Biology or closely related Life Science field. Graduate coursework should include substantial preparation in cell biology, genetics, ecology, or evolutionary biology.
  • The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as an instructor of record for a general education life science course preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach scientific inquiry, cell structure and function, genetics, evolutionary theory, and ecological interactions.
  • Experience implementing active learning pedagogy is strongly preferred.
