Teach the following Creative Writing courses: ENGL 218 (Creative Writing), ENGL 317R (Writing Creative Nonfiction), ENGL 318R (Writing Fiction), ENGL 319R (Writing Poetry), or ENGL 320R (Writing for Children and Adolescents). Course descriptions are available in the BYU Course Catalog. Each course has required learning outcomes and recommended assignments as set by the English Department. Applicants must be available to teach in-person classes on the BYU Provo Campus and are expected to hold at least three office hours each week, share an office with up to two additional adjunct faculty and be responsive to student inquiries in a timely manner. Office hours may be held in person and/or online and instructor must reside in the state of Utah. Adjunct faculty may be required to attend training prior to the start of teaching assignment, depending on prior teaching experience and familiarity with BYU's writing program. Training for new courses is available annually. Additional employee training may be offered periodically (EEO, accessibility, LMS, etc.). Adjunct faculty do not attend regular faculty meetings and are not required to participate in research or citizenship responsibilities. However, adjunct faculty are invited to participate in ad hoc workshops and events as coordinated by the English Department's adjunct faculty liaison.
