About The Position

Hiram College invites applications for an adjunct position in Mathematics to teach one, in-person course during the Spring 2026 semester. The course is MATH 19900 Calculus II, covering the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, integration techniques, and introductory differential equations. This course serves primarily physics and chemistry majors. Hiram College, established in 1850 as the Western Reserve Eclectic Institute, is a nationally respected private residential liberal arts college located 30 miles from Cleveland in the historic Western Reserve region of Ohio. At Hiram, close student-faculty interaction and innovation is routine. The College's distinctive academic calendar, the Hiram Plan, offers students the opportunity each semester for a 3-week intensive course, study abroad/away program, internship or research experience. Qualifications include: A minimum of master's degree in mathematics, or master's degree or PhD in related field with experience teaching calculus, or master's degree in related field with at least 18 hours of graduate-level mathematics coursework. Adjunct instructors are hired on a course-by-course basis each term. Duties are limited to teaching unless otherwise specified. Mathematics is a minor-only program located within the School of Science and Technology, alongside Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
