The Anatomy Learning Institute is seeking candidates for multiple adjunct teaching positions, as well as adjunct faculty to develop curricula in the anatomical sciences (Gross anatomy, embryology, neuroanatomy & histology)

Requirements

  • Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques appropriate to effective undergraduate or graduate teaching in 1 or more of the above-mentioned anatomical sciences.
  • Knowledge of ways to instruct, manage, motivate and evaluate students
  • Extensive experience working with human body donors to teach anatomy
  • Potential for outstanding teaching as demonstrated by prior classroom in person and online experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively with College of Health Science faculty in course instruction and/or design
  • Thorough commitment to the concept of Christian liberal arts education and a desire to work in a Christian university.
  • Supportive of the religious and educational goals of the university and its sponsoring denomination.
  • Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement.
  • Faculty agree to live in agreement with PLNU’s Community Life Covenant.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate preferred; master’s in anatomy accepted
  • Experience creating new curricula at the undergraduate or graduate level (for persons developing curriculum only)

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate level anatomy courses
  • Work with human body donors (cadavers) to teach prosection or dissection-based curricula
  • Prepare prosected human materials for teaching
  • Invest in students’ professional development
  • Participate in Point Loma Nazarene University activities as appropriate
  • Mentor students in research or professional experiences as appropriate
