About The Position

West Shore Community College is seeking applications from individuals with 2 years long-term care nursing experience to be a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) instructor at Newaygo County RESA for the winter semester. 2 days per week, 2-3 hours per day. Requirements

• Registered nurse with a current, unrestricted nursing license to practice in Michigan
• At least two years full-time (at least 35 hours per week) work experience as a Registered Nurse, supervision of CNAs in long-term care required
• Prior experience and best practice knowledge that includes providing direct patient care, implementing infection control procedures, supporting patient safety and comfort, and effectively training or supervising CNA assistants in clinical settings
• Nurse Aide Trainer certificate (willing to assist with Nurse Aide Trainer certificate if you do not currently have certification)
• Minimum of an associate degree in nursing
• Will train for course expectation and evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Instructing and evaluating the classroom, lab, and clinical training of CNA students per State specifications
• Enrolling students in Headmaster, tracking the required 75 hours of instruction hours for each student and ensuring clinical requirements and documentation are met per clinical site facility
• Adhering to and teaching students professionalism standards according to the NCRESA's 5 competencies
• Setting up State testing for CENA students in conjunction with the Newaygo County RESA and Headmaster
• Managing equipment needs for the CENA program
