The College Now Program at Kingsborough College seeks Adjunct Lecturers to teach Student Development courses in the College Now Program. The successful candidates will teach Student Development 10: Freshman Orientation _and/or_ Student Development 11: Career Decision-Making, both of which are a 1 credit college level course open to sophomore, junior and/or senior students. Student Development 10: Freshman Orientation This course helps students realistically assess college options prior to and after graduation from high school. Topics include applying and adjusting to college, study habits, time management, financial planning, career exploration and decision-making. The course meets for a total of 12 hours and is in addition to the teacher's regular NYCPS work day. Student Development 11: Career Decision-Making This course helps students explore careers in relation to their abilities and interests. Topics include the nature of work, contemporary changes in careers and work ethic, changing lifestyles, self-assessment, job seeking techniques, goal planning and priority setting. The course meets for a total of 12 hours and is in addition to the teacher's regular NYCPS work day. These positions are only available to NYCPS Teachers in College Now schools and is in addition to the teacher's regular work day.
