The University of the District of Columbia is seeking an Adjunct Professor to support the "Public Health Information Technology for D.C." (PHIT4DC) Cooperative Agreement Grant project. (Note: this position shall end on 09/20/2025.) The goal of the PHIT4DC project is to train and increase the number of public health informatics professionals in Washington, DC, with a specific concentration on residents of Wards 7 and 8. The Program seeks to improve the delivery of professional community healthcare services to disadvantaged racial/ethnic minority populations by employing modern standards and data science/computing technology knowledge, skills, and abilities effectively. The Adjunct Professor will support PHIT4DC Project Director and Co-PIs in maintaining and expanding an interdisciplinary academic program that combines concepts in public health, healthcare administration, information technology (I.T.), Electronic Healthcare Records (EHR), performance enhancements, and organizational leadership with real-world assignments to prepare students for a dynamic career in the field of health informatics. Students who complete the Program can pursue careers in hospital systems, private clinics, public health organizations, pharmaceutical companies, insurance companies, and private healthcare technology corporations .
