Adjunct Instructor of Sociology
About The Position
George Fox University announces a part-time, adjunct instructor position in Sociology, to begin in spring semester of 2023. The successful candidate will teach 2 courses (listed below). Requirements
- Master's degree in Sociology or a related field is required.
- Demonstrates awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people.
- All applicants must express a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a local church. In addition, professors agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.
- Communicates effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and service.
- Candidates must have legal authority to permanently work in the U.S. and be a resident of one of the following states: Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho, New York, Ohio, or Texas.
Nice To Haves
- Teaching experience at the college level is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Teaching SOCI 150 (Principles of Sociology) on Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 12 to 12:50 pm in the spring (1/9/23-4/28/23)
- Teaching SOCI 220 (Men and Women in Society) on Tuesday, Thursday from 12 to 1:15 pm in the spring (1/9/23-4/28/23)
