About The Position

The Division of Physical and Computational Sciences is currently seeking applicants for a Part-Time, Adjunct Instructor of Engineering - Machine Shop, for Spring 2026.

Requirements

  • An associate degree or higher in manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field, along with relevant industry certifications or teaching experience, is required.
  • Candidates should have demonstrated experience in machining operations and machine shop safety, with proficiency in CNC programming and set-up preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • A strong commitment to teaching undergraduates and experience teaching at the university or collegiate level is preferred.
  • Candidates experienced working with college students from diverse backgrounds and applied experience in the field of expertise are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Applicants must be able to teach Machine Shop, a one-credit laboratory course required for engineering students.
  • The course introduces students to safe and effective operation of common machine tools, including lathes, mills, drill presses, and CNC equipment.
  • Successful applicants will provide hands-on training in machining processes, measurement techniques, material selection, and shop safety protocols.
