About The Position

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for the Adjunct Instructor - Introduction to Computers (Part-Time) position in our Business and Public Service Technologies division. This position is located at Atlanta Technical College's Main Campus, just south of Downtown Atlanta. Under the general supervision of the Dean of Business and Public Service Technologies, the Adjunct Instructor - Introduction to Computers (Part-Time) teaches COMP 1000. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer applications and digital literacy, with a passion for helping students build confidence and competence in technology. This position requires passion, demonstrated by experience, for effective teaching, learning and advisement of a diverse student population. This is a part-time position, up to twenty-nine (29) hours per week. The job duties include, but may not be limited to, the following:

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Education/Technology, or a related field
  • Three (3) years of professional experience using Microsoft Office and other business software
  • Strong communication and instructional skills
  • Ability to work with diverse student populations

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or higher in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Education/Technology, or a related field
  • Experience with hybrid or online course delivery
  • Prior teaching experience at the postsecondary level
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms and instructional technology (e.g., Blackboard, D2L)
  • Familiarity with technical education including knowledge of curriculum standards as established by the Technical College System of Georgia
  • May be required to teach at other locations and other locations within the community.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering engaging instruction aligned with course competencies and student learning outcomes.
  • Teach topics including basic computer hardware and software concepts, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), internet safety, email usage, online research, file management, and operating system navigation.
  • Prepare lesson plans, assignments, and assessments.
  • Provide timely feedback and academic support to students.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
