About The Position

Adjunct Instructor for the Health Administration/Health Information Department. This position includes teaching core and interdisciplinary health courses in the College of Health Professions. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's campuses, or at statewide high schools. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. The candidate(s) selected for the position(s) must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. The anticipated start date of this position is January of 2026 at the earliest, and because this is a pooled position, we will be using this posting for semesters in the near future, so please continue to apply even after the initial review date. Requirements

Master's degree in a health sciences/health-related area or a master's degree in education.
Three or more years of health-related work experience or teaching experience.
Demonstrated successful commitment, experience, and understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

Provide classroom and online instruction as assigned (some evening hours may be required).
Teach core and interdisciplinary health courses in the College of Health Professions.
Maintain currency within the discipline in area(s) of expertise.
Maintain a consistent physical presence on the main campus for the purpose of engagement in the University community and the advancement of the health programs.
Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention initiatives.
Adhere to the policies of the college and university.
Faculty members also have professional responsibilities that may include but are not limited to keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (i.e. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time). Faculty may be required to teach off-campus or in an on-line environment.
Cultivate an environment of belonging that values, respects, supports, and celebrates individual similarities and differences, allowing students, faculty and staff to thrive authentically.
Active engagement in assessment of student learning and its related analysis and improvement processes.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
