The School of Professional Studies is seeking an adjunct instructor to enhance the course content and teach Writing in the Humanities for the Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences. The course will be offered in an online, synchronous, semester-based format geared toward part-time, adult undergraduate students. Students will learn and use the approaches of the Humanities to understand and analyze expressive texts in multiple forms including literature, the arts, and popular media. They build on the skills from the Academic Writing and Research (LIB111) course to critically read and think about various genres, and they produce effective written and oral communication that draws on library research and information literacy. The instructor will add their subject matter expertise and real-world examples, partnering with MCPHS leaders to ensure content is relevant to employers. As part of the course development process, the instructor will partner with a project manager and instructional design manager. The instructor will play an important role in the continuous improvement and overall success of the course. This role is crucial in establishing the foundation of the Bachelor of Science program, directly impacting its quality and future success. The instructor will help shape the learning experience for our students and will contribute to the growth of this exciting new academic offering.
