The University of St. Thomas Sociology Program within the Department of Justice & Society Studies invites applications for adjunct faculty members to teach one or more sections of Introduction to Sociology, Social Problems, or Sociological Analysis (quantitative statistics), or other Sociology courses in the faculty member’s area of expertise. Adjunct appointments are without tenure and are not tenure-track appointments. This posting is for a pooled, adjunct faculty position for continuous recruitment. Review of candidates is typically done on an annual basis during the month of January. The salary range for the College of Arts and Sciences Adjunct positions ranges from $5,994 to $6,717 (per 4 credit undergraduate course, 3 credit graduate course). Rate of pay is determined by academic credential and years of teaching experience. Teaching load generally ranges from one to two sections per semester, with a preference for in-person instruction, depending upon department needs and enrollments. Most classes are held during daytime hours with courses occasionally offered in the evening.
