Sauk Valley Community College, a comprehensive community college invites applications from innovative individuals for an adjunct Philosophy faculty position. Applicants must have prior experience teaching a college-level World Religions class online and must have experience with Canvas or a comparable learning management system. This class is a general education class that must be taught to the statewide standards. The individual selected will also be expected to share the course content and have it reviewed using SVCC's quality online teaching and learning standards. This position is for spring 2026 only, but could be renewable. PHL 104 (3 credit hours) A comparative study of some of the leading ideas and practices of the world's major religions, including Confucianism, Taoism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Attention will be given also to the primitive roots of civilized religion and to the cultural context in which the various conceptions developed. Responsibilities: To be cognizant of the philosophy and objectives of the College and use them as guidelines in planning, structuring, and teaching courses. Reports directly to the Dean of Transfer Programs and Academic Support Services who is the supervisor over the position.
