About The Position

Adjunct Faculty refers to an educator hired to teach on a course by course basis throughout an academic year. We are looking to fill the Adjunct positions listed below: Adjunct Instructor of Voice Adjunct Instructor of String Methods Adjunct Instructor of Trombone/Euphonium Adjunct Instructor of Mariachi

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Music
  • 1 or more years of collegiate teaching experience.
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctor of Musical Arts, PhD in Music Education or related degree/field.
  • Special consideration will be granted to candidates who hold a degree in trombone or euphonium performance, vocal performance, or music education with an foundation in string methods/pedagogy.
  • Special consideration will be granted to candidates who have successful experience with mariachi ensembles.
  • College or University teaching experience.
  • Evidence of teaching excellence.
  • Prior relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach up to seven semester credit hours (up to two (2) courses) within the required discipline. Instruction may be delivered on-campus, off-campus, or online and may be during the day and/or evening as dictated by student demand and departmental needs.
  • Develop and manage the class syllabus and ensure that the syllabus meets department and college standards.
  • Plan and create lectures, in-class discussions, and assignments.
  • Assess grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations.
  • Assist/mentor students as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
