About The Position

Adjunct Faculty - Mental Health Counseling Location: Cambridge College Puerto Rico - San Patricio Campus Course Delivery: Cambridge College Puerto Rico, courses are offered in a dual-language format (Spanish and English). English is the primary language for course design and presentation, while Spanish is the main instructional language. Candidates must be fluent in both languages. Schedule & Location: Courses are delivered on campus at our San Patricio, Guaynabo location. Classes are held on alternate weekends, full days from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Course Description: Cambridge College Puerto Rico is seeking an experienced temporary adjunct faculty member in Mental Health Counseling to teach graduate-level courses at our San Patricio, Guaynabo Campus. The position requires bilingual fluency (Spanish and English), expertise in Mental Health Counseling, and a strong record of teaching and professional practice in counseling or higher education. Applicants must reside in Puerto Rico and be willing to travel on weekends to the San Patricio campus. Attendance at faculty meetings, orientations, and required training sessions is mandatory. Note: Candidates with only a master's degree will not be considered, as the Cambridge College Puerto Rico programs are graduate-level. Compensation: $500-1200 per credit. Adjunct faculty pay rates vary, depending on the academic discipline and the course's credit load and level.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Mental Health Counseling, Professional Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or a closely related field from a recognized and accredited U.S. higher education institution.
• Current and valid Professional Counselor License issued by the Puerto Rico Department of Health, in compliance with Law No. 147 of August 9, 2002, known as the Law to Regulate the Practice of Professional Counselors in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
• If the applicant does not hold a current professional counselor license issued by the Puerto Rico Department of Health, they cannot be considered, as this is a profession regulated by law.
• A minimum of four (4) years of higher education teaching experience in Mental Health Counseling, or four (4) or more years of clinical, supervisory, or leadership experience in counseling, mental health, or human services settings.
• Demonstrated experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS), preferably Canvas.
• Evidence of being current in the field, including knowledge of ethical standards, best practices, and recent research in counseling and mental health.
• If you operate a University owned, leased or personal vehicle at any time while performing your duties you must follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Operations Manual. You must have a valid driver's license and must successfully pass the online safe Driving Course and driving record check at time of hire and annually thereafter. Additionally, you must report any driving offense, on or off company time, which causes a loss, suspension, or any other change in your license status. You must report this change within one business day of the offense. You can report this change to the Human Resource Department or your direct supervisor. Failure to do so can lead to disciplinary action, up to and including terminations.
