About The Position

Teach students the theory, principles and setup techniques for machining. The instructor will be responsible for creating and distributing a course syllabus, teaching all scheduled classes, and responding to and evaluating student work. Summary of Essential Functions The successful candidate will teach students the theory, principles and setup techniques for manual machining on milling, turning, and grinding machines using a classroom and lab. Course offered at the Grayslake campus in the evenings. The instructor will be responsible for creating and distributing a course syllabus, teaching all scheduled classes, and responding to and evaluating student work.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in Computerized Numerical Control -AND-setup/operation of CNC vertical milling machines -AND-horizontal turning centers.
  • Applicant must be proficient in Mori Seiki - AND-HAAS machines using FANUC -AND-HAAS controllers.
  • At least two (2) years of work experience must have occurred within the last five years.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an apprenticeship or formal training program in the Machine Tool Trades preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree and teaching experience preferred
