About The Position

The Humanistic Studies Department of Maryland Institute College of Art invites applications for a part-time faculty position in a non-tenure institution beginning Spring, 2026. The faculty position will teach a minimum of 3 credits per semester at an art school nationally known for its dedication to teaching excellence, a rigorous liberal arts curriculum and the importance of the fine arts. We are specifically seeking an instructor for H SCI 205 Visual Physics, a course that introduces students to essential concepts in physics through a visually-based, but rigorous investigation of a range of topics including energy, gravity, mechanics, optics, statics, waves, special relativity theory and how they apply to the environment.

Requirements

  • MS in Physics, Engineering, or STEM related field
  • Experience teaching science at the college-level beyond graduate assistantships is preferred.
