About The Position

Position Summary Concordia University seeks part-time Adjunct Faculty applicants to teach in-person finance class(es) for the Batterman School of Business. The appointment will be per semester and may be a renewable position. Adjunct Faculty fulfill the university's mission to help students develop in mind, body, and spirit for service to Christ in the Church and the world. Adjunct Faculty members advise and mentor students while serving as Christian role-models. This position reports to the Chair of Undergraduate Business department in the Batterman School of Business. The appointment may begin in the Spring 2026 or later semester upon the hiring of a suitable candidate and may be a renewable position. Specific areas that may need to be filled include: ECON 3350 An Econometric Survey - Tuesday & Thursday 1:10 pm - 2:25 pm Additional opportunities may include: FIN 3100 Basic Investing FIN 3400 Corporate Finance FIN 3200 Money and Banking FIN 4200 Advanced Excel Analysis FIN 4250 Securities Analysis FIN 4300 International Finance

Requirements

  • Exhibits a willingness and ability to work with diverse individuals and organizations
  • Demonstrates effective leadership, organizational skills, and is a self-starter
  • Familiar with the university campus life
  • Able to deal with interruptions and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to present a Christian and professional manner
  • Candidates should possess strong written and oral communications skills
  • All candidates should possess an ability to meet deadlines
  • Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS)
  • Masters of Finance or MBA
  • or Bachelor's in Finance and current professional credentials related to Finance (CFA, CFP, etc) and 5 years of tested experience
  • Five years total experience in the areas of wealth management, asset management, corporate finance, commercial banking or insurance. Experience also can be demonstrated by obtaining and maintaining professional credentials, including Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or other widely recognized designations or licenses.

Nice To Haves

  • Terminal degree in Finance or Business
  • Previous teaching experience in a baccalaureate or higher degree program is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Teach academic 6 - 15 credits per year, or the equivalent
  • Assist in student advising and mentoring
  • Provide evaluation
  • Responsible for meeting with assigned students throughout the semester
  • Provides a quality learning experience for students on a semester basis.
  • Adjunct faculty reports to the chair and performs instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies, and procedures of the university
  • All other duties as assigned
