The School of Architecture and Design (SoAD) at New York Tech invites applications for part-time Adjunct faculty positions for daytime and evening courses in the Department of Architecture and the Department of Interior Design at the Long Island (Old Westbury, NY) and New York City campuses.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have a minimum of a Master's degree in a related field to their teaching assignment (e.g. Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • First Professional Degree (B.Arch or M.Arch) PLUS the RA or the PE and prior experience teaching at the college level.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching assigned courses that align with the departmental curriculum and course objectives, including accreditation standards.
  • Developing and refining course materials such as syllabi, lectures, assignments, and exams for the course.
  • Grading student work promptly by evaluating assignments, quizzes, papers, and exams and submitting the results in a timely manner.
  • Providing students with constructive feedback and guidance on their academic progress, including prompt responses to inquiries.
  • Holding regular office hours to support students that are clearly communicated.
  • Maintaining accurate records, including tracking student grades, attendance, and other relevant academic data, and ensuring required documentation is submitted on time to the department.
  • Communicating effectively with department chairs and coordinators about course progress and addressing any emerging issues related to the course or a student.
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports all students.
  • Following university policies, including all institutional rules, regulations, and academic integrity guidelines.
