As an Additive Manufacturing Senior Engineer, you’ll work in a dynamic, hands-on additive manufacturing design and development environment. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team focused on the development and integration of additive manufacturing solutions that deliver value to our customers. This position works with advanced materials and 3D printing technologies to support engineering development for program applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in Mechanical, Materials and Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Mechanical Design experience in structures, hardware, assemblies or similar field
  • Experience with applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles
  • Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools (such as PTC Creo, Windchill)
  • Experience with project planning, such as scheduling, cost, and operations oversight

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of metallurgy
  • Experience coordinating with other functional disciplines and organizations
  • Foundational knowledge of testing for aerospace flight hardware
  • Experience with stress/thermal analysis software (NX or similar)
  • Experience with nTopology and AnsysAM

Responsibilities

  • Provide Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) input to optimize parts for Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) processes.
  • Collaborate with program engineers and proactively network with internal/external customers.
  • Support the entire additive build process from build set-up, printer operation, and build post-processing.
  • Support planning, scheduling, and execution of builds.
  • Provide timely and accurate cost estimates to potential customers looking for additive manufacturing hardware solutions.
  • Interface with leaders and engineering team to apply/modify existing techniques towards the improvement or development of new processes.
