About The Position

Boulder Community Health is seeking an Addiction Counselor who develops and implements a culturally responsive, evidence-based substance-use disorder (SUD) treatment program, who performs assessment, therapy, and treatment planning.

Requirements

Master's degree in counseling, Social Work, or similar is preferred.
Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) or Certified Addiction Specialist required.
BLS from the American Heart Association is required within a 90-day conditional period.
Five years on ASAM 3.7 withdrawal management unit preferred.
Three years of emergency, acute or outpatient behavioral or substance use disorder care as LCSW or LPC required.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in counseling, Social Work, or similar is preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement an evidence-based SUD therapy program.
Mentor and educate staff in SUD assessment, treatment, and recovery.
Ongoing monitoring to ensure program meets statutory, regulatory, compliance, and quality requirements.
Data-driven incremental improvement.
Assess patient's condition and identify problems, goals, and intervention.
Collaborate with patients, family or loved ones, and an interdisciplinary team to develop and update treatment plans.
Act as patient advocate.
Ensure care is trauma-informed and appropriate to patient's emotional, social, and mental development.
Facilitate group therapy and individual therapy sessions.
Educate and validate patients, family and/or loved ones' understanding.
