About The Position

Boulder Community Health is seeking an Addiction Counselor who develops and implements a culturally responsive, evidence-based substance-use disorder (SUD) treatment program, who performs assessment, therapy, and treatment planning.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in counseling, Social Work, or similar is preferred.
  • Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) or Certified Addiction Specialist required.
  • BLS from the American Heart Association is required within a 90-day conditional period.
  • Five years on ASAM 3.7 withdrawal management unit preferred.
  • Three years of emergency, acute or outpatient behavioral or substance use disorder care as LCSW or LPC required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in counseling, Social Work, or similar is preferred.
  • Five years on ASAM 3.7 withdrawal management unit preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an evidence-based SUD therapy program.
  • Mentor and educate staff in SUD assessment, treatment, and recovery.
  • Ongoing monitoring to ensure program meets statutory, regulatory, compliance, and quality requirements.
  • Data-driven incremental improvement.
  • Assess patient's condition and identify problems, goals, and intervention.
  • Collaborate with patients, family or loved ones, and an interdisciplinary team to develop and update treatment plans.
  • Act as patient advocate.
  • Ensure care is trauma-informed and appropriate to patient's emotional, social, and mental development.
  • Facilitate group therapy and individual therapy sessions.
  • Educate and validate patients, family and/or loved ones' understanding.
