Licensed Addiction Counselor (25142883) Position Title: Licensed Addiction Counselor - (25142883) The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within Montana State Hospital. The Licensed Addiction Counselor provides substance abuse counseling to the adult population at Montana State Hospital, including overseeing the individualized chemical dependency treatment plans, recommending and implementing therapeutic interventions and treatment approaches based on evaluation and assessment findings, maintaining clinical records, providing individual and group counseling, and monitoring progress, which may include discharge planning/placement and treatment plan production and coordination as needed. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity Working knowledge of clinical treatment techniques for adult psychiatric clients including subgroups of patients with psychotic disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, substance abuse disorders, patients involved in the criminal justice system, and other mental health disorders. Understanding of individual and team approaches to treatment and therapy. Knowledge and application of professional and ethical standards of practice. Effective interviewing and information gathering techniques. Ability to effectively utilize knowledge and skills and apply them to practical assessment and treatment modalities for patients. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to analyze, assemble and organize information.
