About The Position

Allied Machine & Engineering, headquartered in Dover, Ohio, is a leading global manufacturer of hole making and finishing cutting tool systems. LOCATION: 485 W. 3rd St. Dover, OH 44622 Job Summary: The ADDAMS Engineer will support the ADDAMS Project Engineers in designing, implementing, and maintaining automated quoting through manufacturing systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related course of study
  • Software Development Experience with writing custom software applications using ANSI C, C++, C#, Visual Basic, or Java
  • Ability to maintain custom software applications with ANSI C, C++ or Java
  • Experience with the development and management of a relational database such as Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with the development of interactive web-based applications using Microsoft .NET, HTML, JavaScript frameworks, and CSS
  • Machine Tool Automation Fundamental understanding of the processes of standard design and drafting techniques
  • Experience with a 3-dimensional CAD software package
  • An understanding of the techniques used to develop CNC programs using CAM and post processing software
  • Metrology An understanding of the principles of lean and Six Sigma
  • A basic understanding of measurement tools
  • Ability to interpret design specifications
  • The determination to overcome obstacles to achieve solutions that satisfy the requirements of the project
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills
  • Must be able to take and follow instructions as given by the ADDAMS Project Engineers
  • Ability to work well independently as well as cooperatively with others
  • Function in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to lift to 32 pounds unassisted.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development activities of the ADDAMS Project Engineers
  • Use the techniques defined by the ADDAMS Project Engineers to develop automation solutions for engineering and manufacturing activities
  • Create documentation for all standards, models, and applications developed by the department
  • Implement the ADDAMS Project Engineers’ training program and train the users on the functionality of the applications
  • Develop and maintain test procedures for each project
  • Write custom applications to perform repetitive tasks, minimize users’ time, and create an enterprise-wide link of information
  • Develop models using CAD/CAM software to minimize the time required to quote, design, draft, program and manufacture a quality part
  • Establish inspection processes and methods which control and document product quality
