Collaborate with feature systems engineers to define design objectives, functional requirements, and architectural decisions for driver engagement systems. Develop and apply systematic, statistical methods to translate feature-level requirements into specific system performance expectations. Define and develop performance requirements and associated metrics for perception systems, including establishing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for availability, accuracy, and false positive rates. Evaluate a variety of perception data pipelines including those related to radar and vision based sensing. Work with vendors to measure system sensitivity to numerous factors including: vehicle characteristics (e.g., sensor packaging) and environmental conditions (e.g., ambient light, sun angle). Explore and propose system architecture modifications to decrease application sensitivity. Investigate and implement strategies to reduce sub-demographic systematic errors. Partner with vendors and our hardware team to refine sensor packaging requirements. Design a validation strategy to quantify system robustness against interacting noise factors for both platform and application sign-off Define real-world usage profiles to estimate system performance for a representative population in naturalistic driving conditions. Support root cause analysis for any field issues with cross-functional team. Established and active employee resource groups
