We are looking for an Ad Operations Manager to independently launch and QA programmatic advertising campaigns on behalf of some of our larger, more strategic clients. This person will collaborate with a group of experienced and extremely dedicated coworkers who are passionate about advertising, artificial intelligence, and workflow improvement & automation. The role provides an opportunity to maintain a dedicated book of business & flex leadership capabilities, deepen one’s knowledge of advertising operations, and gain exposure to deep learning initiatives at the cutting edge of programmatic advertising. This position will be located in NYC with a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in office (Mon/Tue/Wed) and 2 days remote (Thursday/Friday).

Requirements

  • AdTech or media ad operations expert. You’ve built a strong foundation in ad ops and understand the end-to-end lifecycle, from trafficking and QA to troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
  • You’re fluent in the ad tech stack. You’ve worked hands-on with buy-side ad servers like Campaign Manager 360, Flashtalking, or Innovid, implemented tracking through tag management systems such as Google Tag Manager, Tealium, Adobe Experience Platform Tags, or Ensighten, and confidently use browser developer tools and testing environments like W3Schools and JSFiddle to inspect pixels, validate data layers, and QA ad tags.
  • You sweat the details. You’re highly detail-oriented and take pride in seeing projects through from kickoff to completion, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks.
  • You’re technically curious. You have a strong aptitude for learning new platforms, tools, and technical concepts, and can quickly get up to speed with unfamiliar systems.
  • You speak a little code. You have a foundational understanding of HTML and JavaScript, giving you the context needed to troubleshoot tags, pixels, and basic implementation issues.
  • You’re a clear communicator. You have strong written and verbal communication skills and can explain technical concepts in a way that’s easy for both technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand.

Nice To Haves

  • You’re comfortable in the bidder seat. You have hands-on experience working in DSPs like and understand how campaigns are activated, monitored, and optimized in programmatic environments.
  • You’re familiar with the data ecosystem. You have experience working within DMPs such as LiveRamp and understand how audience data is onboarded, managed, and activated across platforms.
  • Dabbled in SQL. You have experience querying datasets using SQL to investigate issues, pull insights, and support campaign analysis.
  • You’re comfortable moving data around. You have experience navigating cloud storage like Amazon S3 and managing secure file transfers via SFTP to access and share campaign data.
  • You enjoy improving how teams work. Bonus points if you’ve built or optimized workflows in project management tools like Jira or Asana to help teams stay organized and operate more efficiently

Responsibilities

  • Manage strategic campaigns. Set up, QA, and manage key digital advertising campaigns from launch through completion to ensure accuracy and performance.
  • Oversee data collection and integrations. Facilitate campaign data collection by generating and troubleshooting pixels and managing client and vendor file ingestion.
  • Drive client value through collaboration. Partner with the Client Success team to proactively identify opportunities where Cognitiv can deliver additional value for existing clients.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor. Evaluate technical feasibility and develop innovative solutions that support client needs and help attract new business opportunities.
