About The Position

In partnership with the Program Manager, Advanced Amphibious Assault (PM AAA), this role provides on-site ACV fielding, inspection, turnover, and sustainment support to the PM AAA PMO, ensuring equipment readiness and maintaining accurate vendor-to-Government turnover documentation. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years combined operator/maintainer experience with AAV or ACV platforms, to include hands on mechanical and systems work.
  • Demonstrated experience performing vehicle inspections, inventories, and basic maintenance.
  • Clearance: Secret required (possession or ability to obtain).
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with technical manuals (TMs), troubleshooting procedures, and use of standard diagnostic/test equipment.
  • Physical/Operational: Able to lift up to 30 lbs, work outdoors when required, and travel up to 10% as noted.
  • Soft Skills: Strong written documentation skills; attention to detail for inventories and turnover paperwork; effective communicator with PMO, vendors, and end users.
  • Other: Valid driver’s license; willingness to deploy to field sites and work variable hours to meet turnover schedules.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school or military technical training preferred.
  • Associate’s degree in Mechanical Technology, Logistics, or related field.
  • Military MOS or civilian equivalent with direct ACV/AAV operator or maintainer background.
  • Prior experience with Government fielding programs, vendor turnover processes, or PMO support.
  • Certifications: ASE or equivalent vehicle maintenance certifications preferred; forklift and LOTO training a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Execute on-site fielding actions for the ACV, including installation of GFE and preparation of vehicles for delivery.
  • Perform inspections and inventories (Limited Technical Inspection; SL-3 inventory) to assess damage, completeness, and readiness.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and systems faults to restore operational capability or document deficiencies for follow-on action.
  • Validate and update technical manuals (TMs) and associated documentation; track vendor turnover paperwork and maintain chain-of-custody records.
  • Coordinate with using units and facilities to schedule turnovers, deliveries, and acceptance activities.
  • Support logistics and sustainment tasks such as parts accountability, tool/equipment control, and maintenance planning.
  • Install Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and associated kits per TM and vendor instructions.
  • Configure vehicle systems, verify interfaces, and perform functional checks.
  • Conduct Limited Technical Inspections and SL 3 inventories; document discrepancies, missing items, and damage.
  • Prepare vehicles and equipment for turnover to the using unit or facility.
  • Operate ACV systems during acceptance checks and demonstrations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and basic corrective maintenance to support fielding timelines.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and systems faults; perform on site corrective actions or coordinate higher level maintenance.
  • Use standard tools, test equipment, and TMs to isolate and resolve issues.
  • Track and update turnover documentation from vendors to Government; ensure completeness of records.
  • Validate and recommend updates to TMs based on field findings and lessons learned.
  • Maintain accountability for tools, test equipment, and spares; support inventory reconciliation.
  • Liaise with PMO, vendor representatives, and end users to resolve fielding issues and schedule activities.
