About The Position

The Therapy Supervisor works with Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapists in daily activities and ensures adherence to all state, federal, and accrediting body rules and regulations. Ensures that care is managed through appropriate utilization, clinical interventions, care planning and regulatory compliance. Ensures that patient care outcomes are attained. Provision of clinical assessment, education, care planning, and monitoring of response to therapies and therapeutic outcomes to patients in their place of service. Hours may vary depending upon census and program need. The compensation range for this position will vary depending on the selected candidate’s licensure and may differ from the range reflected in this posting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Related Field
  • Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Or
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • Or
  • Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Or
  • Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Or
  • Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Driver's License - Varies
  • Proof of Auto Insurance - Varies
  • Attend and satisfactorily complete all required continuing education regarding the care of acute stroke patients.
  • Related field 2+ years
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, practices, and data validation methodologies.
  • Demonstrated personal initiative, leadership and team player skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience presenting to groups
  • Ability to influence and foster collaborative relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent customer service and process improvement skills.
  • Ability to balance opposing viewpoints and seek optimal solutions
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet time sensitive deadlines and organize workload with general supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft office

Responsibilities

  • Assist manager/director in providing coaching and one-to-one feedback prior to any discipline. Provide background information to manager for any discipline needed.
  • Assist staff in dealing with customer service issues, provide mentoring as needed to staff and invene as needed with customers.
  • Acts as a resource to accomplish related tasks.
  • Assists with the orientation, continuing education, and the development of competencies for new and current staff; collaborates with the Home Services Educator, staff, and other leadership.
  • Assumes responsibility for personnel related duties that include interviewing, disciplinary actions, payroll reporting, scheduling paid leave, and enforcing requires rules and regulations. Monitors employee performance and ensures timely communications for the purpose of goal setting, performance evaluations, wages increases and continued personal actions.
  • Compiles and completes daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Coordinates activities and staff schedules within department.
  • Demonstrates a growing and applied knowledge base in areas of standards of care, patient care resources, references, protocol, pertinent drugs, significant lab values, and procedures.
  • Maintains ongoing knowledge of all job functions performed in the areas being supervised as well as maintains a thorough working knowledge of all of the systems utilized to perform the work in the areas being supervised.
  • If applicable, completes annual education as assigned to comply with DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements.
  • Assesses and problem solves using therapy related knowledge (Regulatory Guidance, Accreditation Guidance, Conditions of Participation) to promote desired outcomes in response to regulatory changes and customer concerns.
  • Monitors employee performance and ensures timely communications for the purpose of goal setting,
  • performance evaluations, wages increases; Provides coaching and one-to-one feedback to therapy staff.
