About The Position

Sampson Regional Medical Center is searching for an Acute Care Physical Therapist to join our Rehabilitation team! Description: The selected candidate will perform examinations and treatments to individuals referred to Acute Care Physical Therapy. Based on the examination, the physical therapist organizes and constructs a treatment plan of care that is designed to restore function, prevent disability following disease, injury and/or loss of body part, and assist in the attainment of the patients maximum functional level. The written plan of care is expected to follow the required documentation standards set forth by regulating agencies such as the PT Board of Examiners & CMS.

Requirements

  • Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited Physical Therapy school.
  • Annual certificate of license by the State of North Carolina.
  • BLS Certification.
  • One year of clinical experience preferred.
  • Ability to organize and conduct clinical activities of the Rehabilitation Department.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the developmental aging process as it relates to the physical assessment and treatment of patients of all age categories.
  • Exhibits professionalism in all interactions within the hospital system and the outside public.
  • Able to work in collaboration with a variety of individuals and disciplines.
  • Understands the wellness concept and can communicate with clients from the wellness perspective.
  • Thorough theoretical and clinical/practical knowledge of evaluations and basic treatment designs for a wide variety of diagnoses, physical therapy modalities, assistive devices to help maximize functional ADL, and the application and instruction in use of prosthetic/orthotic devices.
