About The Position

Wellstar Medical Group is seeking a Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join their Inpatient General Cardiovascular Medicine team at Wellstar Paulding Hospital. This Weekend Day position offers an excellent opportunity to practice in a collaborative, physician-led environment while maintaining work-life balance. The role is 100% inpatient within an established and growing cardiovascular program, featuring a collaborative care model with cardiologists, hospitalists, and experienced APPs, supported by strong leadership and access to system-wide cardiovascular resources. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Current Georgia licensure or eligibility
  • Board certification as an ACNP or PA-C
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills

Nice To Haves

  • Inpatient cardiology or acute care experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the care of hospitalized patients with cardiovascular conditions
  • Perform inpatient consultations, daily rounding, and ongoing patient management
  • Conduct histories and physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans
  • Collaborate closely with supervising cardiologists and multidisciplinary care teams
  • Assist with care transitions, discharge planning, and patient/family education
  • Document clinical encounters accurately and timely within the electronic medical record (EPIC)
