As an Actuarial Consultant, you’ll play a vital role in driving informed business decisions by: Researching, gathering, and compiling statistical data to develop reports that support actuarial and cross-team processes. Assisting in the drafting of policies, forms, rate manuals, and other materials to ensure compliance with insurance regulations, statutes, and company objectives. Providing analytical insights that help guide strategic decisions and align with company goals. Collaborating closely with senior leaders and colleagues to achieve objectives in a way that reflects company values. Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years direct experience with actuarial analysis.
  • A reasonable level of programming competency (SQL, Python or R).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level) with working knowledge of the full MS Office Suite is required.
  • The ability to objectively identify patterns and trends in information and be able to use this information to propose recommendations or solutions.
  • Consistency of applying accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail approaches.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Effectively prioritize assignments and handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to train team members.
  • Adaptability and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or in a related field.
  • Actively pursuing the CIA and CAS Associate designation with at least four successful exam attempts.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred that candidates have the ability to use SQL queries to obtain data required for analysis from the company’s systems.
  • Proficient experience with industry pricing and financial analysis software is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the drafting of policies, forms, rate manuals and other changes to ensure compliance with insurance regulations, statutes and company goals.
  • Leads projects related to the development of new insurance products utilizing statistical data analysis.
  • Organize data and create reports and analysis to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Provides data driven insights to support underwriting decision-making.
  • Performs annual rate making indications and segmentation analysis.
  • Collaborates on developing Pricing proposals and preparing materials to present to company stakeholders.
  • Gather and compiles statistical data via Excel, R or data management programs for the purposes of developing reports to facilitate and support pricing, reinsurance reporting and valuation function.
