You will be responsible for the development and conducting/leading of classroom activity schedules that includes all of the required components of the program, ensuring a safe, stimulating, nurturing and therapeutic learning environment! Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2 years of experience including working with individuals who have developmental disabilities and implementing activities and behavior plans
  • Demonstrate proficiency and effectiveness in verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills, time management and ability to handle high volume multiple projects

Responsibilities

  • Develop daily activity schedules and lesson plans for classrooms including fitness, nutrition, education, social-emotional learning, cultural art and enrichment activity, leisure/recreation activity, homework/supplemental activity, project based learning (summer), snacks/meal times, music therapy, and drowning prevention and water safety in summer months.
  • Provide lessons, materials, information, training, and oversight to counselors to ensure that Team Leaders, Behavior Specialists and Counselors are well prepared to implement all activities.
  • Effectively coordinate and participate in in-service training by orienting new team members, arranging for team members to attend training sessions and supporting on-going employee development; provide training and monitoring of curricula and other components to ensure consistency and accuracy of implementation; provide initial and ongoing training and support for counselors.
