About The Position

As an Activity Specialist, you play an essential role in helping amazing children and young adults live their best lives! You will be responsible for the development and conducting/leading of classroom activity schedules that includes all of the required components of the program, ensuring a safe, stimulating, nurturing and therapeutic learning environment! Requirements

High School Diploma/GED
2 years of experience including working with individuals who have developmental disabilities and implementing activities and behavior plans
Demonstrate proficiency and effectiveness in verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional organizational skills, time management and ability to handle high volume multiple projects

Responsibilities

Develop daily activity schedules and lesson plans for classrooms including fitness, nutrition, education, social-emotional learning, cultural art and enrichment activity, leisure/recreation activity, homework/supplemental activity, project based learning (summer), snacks/meal times, music therapy, and drowning prevention and water safety in summer months.
Provide lessons, materials, information, training, and oversight to counselors to ensure that Team Leaders, Behavior Specialists and Counselors are well prepared to implement all activities.
Effectively coordinate and participate in in-service training by orienting new team members, arranging for team members to attend training sessions and supporting on-going employee development; provide training and monitoring of curricula and other components to ensure consistency and accuracy of implementation; provide initial and ongoing training and support for counselors.
