Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required; college specialization preferred
2+ years of experience in an Activity Assistant or Director position in psychiatric care preferred
Activities Director Certification (Certified Recreational Therapist) required or willingness to obtain and maintain within 12 months of hire
Passion and enthusiasm for working with the elderly
Patience and sensitivity while working with others
Reliable transportation required

Responsibilities

Plan, develop, and present a fresh and varied schedule of meaningful activities and events
Prepare monthly newsletter and calendar for distribution to all residents and families
Maintain records of all activities and resident participation
Compile and create a biography for each patient/resident.
Maintain proper activities inventory for budget
