About The Position

Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the activity programs of this facility in accordance with residents care assessments. Abide by current federal and state regulations, as well as professional standards of practice, in order to assist with necessary changes in department policies and procedures. Participate in community planning related to the interests of the facility and involve the resident/family when planning objectives and goals for the resident. Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement in order to chart detailed notes regarding resident’s activity progress. Perform administrative requirements as needed including but not limited to forecasting the department budget, purchasing department supplies and clothing/personal items for the residents. Committee-Serve on, participate in and attend various committees and continuing education programs of the facility as required. Participate in regularly scheduled reviews of resident discharge plans. Assessment and Care Plan- Assist in developing comprehensive assessments of the activity needs of residents and develop a ‘Plan of Care’. Review and revise “Care Plans” to ensure follow through and quality control. Maintain confidentiality of all resident care. Staff Development- Assist in the development of and participate in the orientation and in-service training programs related to the activity program. Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information; and adhere to Resident’s rights Implement activity procedures and oversee residents engaged in scheduled activities as directed by the Activity Director. Perform other tasks as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as may be directed by the Activity Director.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma/GED or higher
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English
  • Proven ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the needs of the residents, family members, visitors, and personnel served with patience, tact, and enthusiasm.
  • Must possess leadership ability, willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel, and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
