About The Position

The Activity Assistant role at Cambridge House of OFallon is a part-time, 1st shift position. The primary responsibility involves planning, coordinating, and documenting activities for residents, ensuring their engagement and well-being. This includes driving a company van for organized outings, interviewing residents to understand their preferences, and maintaining an inventory of activity supplies. The assistant is also responsible for evaluating and modifying activity programs to meet resident needs, coordinating the community newsletter, and working with the resident council to incorporate resident input. A key aspect of the role is to engage with residents compassionately, fostering a supportive environment that reflects values of love, compassion, and dignity. The position also encourages continuous learning and professional development.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Must hold valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 21 years of age preferred with driving record in good standing

Responsibilities

  • Drives company van on organized outings, as needed
  • Interviews residents upon admission to determine their likes and dislikes
  • Documents the resident’s participation in activities daily
  • Plans and maintains an inventory list of activity equipment and supplies
  • Evaluates the overall effectiveness of the resident’s activity program and, as necessary, modifies the program to meet the resident’s needs and interests
  • Plans and coordinates the Community newsletter
  • Coordinates with the resident council to ensure resident input into the activity program
  • Coordinates resident shopping orders for those unable to shop independently
  • Engages with residents in a compassionate and impactful manner, cultivating a warm and supportive environment where the values of love, compassion, and dignity are reflected in every interaction
  • Engage in continuous learning and development opportunities through attendance and participation in educational seminars, staff meetings, and other learning experiences
