About The Position

As an Activities Assistant at New Mercer Commons, you will: Develop and support resident activities to enhance physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being, promoting independence and community interaction. Assist in planning and conducting monthly activity calendars and various activities (large group, small group, one-on-one). Manage documentation in compliance with State/Federal requirements and complete activity assessments and charting. Train and coordinate volunteers and interns and participate in resident care conferences. Escort and transport residents to activities, maintaining a safe and clean activity space. Communicate with the Activities Director and other departments to ensure smooth operation and planning of activities. Assist with outdoor visitations and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 17 years of age.
  • A high school diploma or a GED.
  • Ability to effectively able to read and interpret documents.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to reason and problem solve.
