About The Position

When you're a patient, games, music, and entertainment can be the highlight of your day. We know that emotional well-being is just as important as clinical care, and that’s where you come in. We’re seeking an Activity Aide to involve residents in a therapeutic engagement program. You will help residents with life enrichment activities and a variety of entertainment options to help keep them engaged in their recovery programs. We are seeking candidates with a strong background in sports, culture, music, and traditional recreational activities, to help bring joy, structure, and stimulation to those in our care.

Requirements

Prior experience as an Activity Aide in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Intermediate Care Facility (ICF), or Assisted Living Facility (ALF) is strongly preferred.
Candidates with a current IL Drivers License and proof of auto insurance will be considered
The ideal candidate is outgoing, compassionate, and skilled at creating a welcoming environment that encourages resident involvement and participation.
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) or patient documentation systems is preferred.
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Responsibilities

Lead engaging group activities, ranging from fitness and games to music and arts
Lead stimulating individual cognitive and memory retention events for our long-term residents
You may be asked to drive and escort residents to off-site events utilizing our facility van
Maintain accurate documentation in PointClickCare (EMR system)
Collaborate with our health care teams to individualize your approach
