About The Position

- The Activities Specialist at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing a variety of therapeutic and recreational activities aimed at enhancing the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of clients. This role is pivotal in promoting a supportive and engaging environment that fosters personal growth, social interaction, and skill development.

Requirements

High School diploma required
Minimum of one year experience working with the target population
Experience in developing and implementing activity programs for individuals with mental health challenges.
Strong knowledge of therapeutic activities and their benefits in mental health treatment.
Excellent organizational and planning skills to create effective activity schedules.
Ability to assess individual needs and tailor activities to support therapeutic goals.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with clients and team members.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Proficiency in documenting client progress and activity outcomes.
Familiarity with safety protocols and emergency procedures in a behavioral health setting.

Bachelor’s degree in human services field preferred

Responsibilities

Develop and coordinate a diverse range of activities tailored to meet the needs and interests of clients, ensuring they align with therapeutic goals.
Collaborate with clinical staff to integrate activities into individualized treatment plans and adjust as necessary based on client progress and feedback.
Facilitate group and individual activities, providing guidance and support to encourage participation and maximize therapeutic outcomes.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities, making adjustments to enhance engagement and therapeutic value.
Maintain accurate records of client participation and progress, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
Provide training and support to volunteers and staff assisting with activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
Stay informed about current trends and best practices in therapeutic recreation to continually improve program offerings.
Organize and manage resources, including equipment and materials, to ensure the smooth execution of activities.
Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes respect, dignity, and inclusivity among clients and staff.
