About The Position
Activities Director – Skilled Nursing Facility Location: North Miami, FL A reputable skilled nursing facility in North Miami is seeking an energetic and creative Activities Director to plan and lead engaging programs that enhance the quality of life for our residents. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and experienced in coordinating recreational activities within a long-term care (LTC) or skilled nursing (SNF) setting.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Activities Director or Recreation Leader in a LTC or SNF environment.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to resident activities.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma required; college degree in recreation therapy or related field preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Certification as an Activities Director preferred (ADC or equivalent).
Responsibilities
- Develop, schedule, and oversee daily, weekly, and monthly activity programs.
- Lead group and one-on-one activities that promote physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with nursing and social services to tailor activities to residents’ abilities and interests.
- Maintain required documentation, attendance records, and compliance with state regulations.
- Supervise and train activity staff and volunteers.
- Coordinate special events, outings, and holiday celebrations.
