About The Position

Work is full time and performed 12 pm - 9pm Tuesday - Saturday and must be available to work all major holidays, as well as occasional weekend or evening work. Work is performed at the residential site with some work at the clinic and in the community. The residential site may be a home and/or an apartment complex which may have two stories; if two stories, the top story is accessible by one flight of stairs. A high degree of accuracy in documentation and observation, adaptability to a variety of situations, strong organizational and communication skills, decision making and an ability to evaluate situations as they occur is needed for this position. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. Must have at least a high school diploma or GED. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Working knowledge of rehabilitative care is required.
  • Experience in which potential administrative and supervisory competence has been demonstrated required.
  • Activity Leader State Certification.
  • Must maintain CPR, First Aid, and Pro-ACT Certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of CNS Learn to Earn program preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and supports Neuro Rehabilitation Specialists (NRS) in the administration of patient programs.
  • In California, is a Mandated Abuse Reporter. Completes training, including viewing DOJ video, Your Legal Duty, and corresponding materials, etc.
  • Provides for the safety of patients, visitors, staff and self when interacting with patients who may have behavioral outbursts, which can include yelling, exiting, hitting, kicking, biting, spitting, scratching, and throwing objects.
  • Performs bed, bath, toilet and chair transfers, up to 20 times per shift, utilizing approved transfer techniques. Performs proficient minimal assist Bobath transfer for patients up to 150 lbs., and moderate to maximum assistance Bobath transfers with assistance. Alternative transfer techniques include standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, pivoting, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling. Patients requiring moderate to maximum assistance and/or weighing over 150 pounds are lifted/transferred by two persons. Mechanical lifts may be used occasionally.
  • Be familiar with/uses special equipment as required by each patient, including, but not limited to wheelchairs, walkers, gastric feeding tubes, and smaller equipment including writing implements.
  • Schedule Tuesday to Saturday 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM
