The Activities Assistant is responsible for: Plan, coordinate, and lead engaging activities that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, physical well-being, and overall quality of life for participants. Works closely with the Activities Coordinator and program staff to ensure activities are person centered, safe, and enjoyable. Creating an environment of warmth, caring, respect and acceptance for the participants. Acts as member of interdisciplinary team as needed. Assists with day center meals and snacks What is PACE? PACE or Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly is a federal and state funded program that provides comprehensive, coordinated, and proactive whole-person care to help maintain and improve seniors' health so they can live safely in their homes. There are 180 PACE programs, serving more than 80,700 participants in 33 states. The number of people aged 55+ is increasing in Grand Junction, CO and the demand for eldercare professionals is on the rise. You Bring:

Requirements

  • Experience working with older adults is required.
  • Current SERV Safe Food Protection certification or obtained within first month of employment.
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license, unlimited access to reliable transportation, and adequate automobile insurance maintained throughout employment.
  • Proficient in computer programs, particularly Microsoft office products.
  • Current CPR certification is maintained throughout employment.
  • Ability to learn EMR charting systems.
  • Effectively and respectfully communicate both verbally and in writing in a multitude of situations and settings, including highly emotional interactions.
  • Effectively work with and build relationships with others.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years’ experience in planning and leading activities preferred.
  • Experience working with clients who have some cognitive impairment preferred.
