Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment Associate - Full-Time
About The Position
Come join us at Mother Angeline McCrory Manor! A Faith-Based, Nonprofit, Short-Term Rehabilitation and Skilled Geriatric Care facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, we've provided spiritually motived care for the elderly of Columbus for over 65 years. Caring for someone isn’t just a job, it’s a compassionate calling based on deep-rooted spiritual beliefs. We are seeking to hire an Activities - Life Enrichment Associate. Full-Time, including Every Other Weekend. $14 to $15.50 based on skills and experience.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- One year of Long-Term Care activities assistant experience required.
- The ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
- Have a caring helpful patient attitude.
- Enjoy working with the aged and infirm.
- Must be able to read, write, speak English language.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing Care Plans to meet spiritual, social, recreational and emotional resident needs.
- Record and maintain a record of resident daily recreational pursuits.
- Participate in and encourage all residents in all of the life enrichment activities and exercises.
- Assist in transporting residents to and from every activity and exercise.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment.
- Assist in compiling and maintaining an activity schedule, available projects, crafts, resources, etc.
- Recommend equipment and supply needs of the department.
- Make routine visits to residents and perform assistance with individual activities.
